Tottenham involved ‘in final negotiations’, 27-yr-old UCL winner ‘on the verge’ of joining

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig. 

According to Florian Plettenberg, the North London giants are involved ‘in final negotiations’ with the German club to sign the striker on a six-month loan deal.

The 27-year-old is ‘on the verge’ of a Premier League return where he had a mediocre spell with Chelsea in the past.

The German striker had an underwhelming spell with Chelsea in the Premier League, and it remains to be seen whether he can make his mark in English football this time around.

Tottenham have employed a high intensity attacking system under their manager Ange Postecoglou and the Australian’s style of could bring out the best in the 27-year-old striker.

The North London giants will be desperate to secure Champions League qualification and it remains to be seen with the Werner can help them finish the season on a high.

The German international is versatile enough to operate as a wide forward as well as a centre forward. His versatility could prove to be an added bonus for Tottenham.

Signing him on a loan deal could prove to be a masterstroke. It would be an inexpensive addition and if he manages to impress, Spurs could sign him permanently in the summer.

The report from Plettenberg claims there could be an option to buy in the summer.
