Tottenham interested in signing striker with 28 goals this season as they eye double raid

By Mehdi Gokal -

According to a recent report by 90min, Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a double raid at Feyenoord as they set their sights on signing striker Santiago Gimenez and manager Arne Slot.

Arne Slot, who led Feyenoord to their first league title since 2017, is expected to be announced as Tottenham’s new manager, as reported by the Daily Mail. Negotiations are currently underway, and Spurs may need to pay a £6 million release clause to secure Slot’s services.

Meanwhile, 90min reveals that Tottenham have joined a growing list of teams interested in Santiago Gimenez. The North London club is said to be monitoring the striker ahead of the summer transfer window, but they face competition from other Premier League clubs such as Aston Villa, Brentford, Crystal Palace, and Leicester City. Several European clubs, including Lille, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Napoli, have also shown interest in Gimenez.

The 22-year-old has played a pivotal role in Feyenoord’s league success this season, contributing 15 goals and 3 assists in 31 games. With a total of 28 goals in all competitions, Gimenez has made an instant impact since joining the club last summer.

Tottenham’s pursuit of Gimenez comes amidst uncertainties surrounding Harry Kane’s future and Richarlison’s challenging first season at the club. Additionally, the departure of Lucas Moura  this summer will further highlight the need for a new striker at Spurs.

While the report claims believe that Gimenez would benefit from staying in the league for another year, the potential appointment of Arne Slot as Tottenham’s manager might entice the young striker to join Spurs and continue playing under the manager with whom he has excelled this season.
