Tottenham Hotspur were linked with a move for the Norwegian winger Antonio Nusa during the January transfer window.
The Premier League side held talks with Club Brugge regarding a potential move but the transfer did not materialise in the end. According to Walfoot, Tottenham remain ‘interested’ in the 18-year-old.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham come forward with an official proposal to sign the winger at the end of the season. Club Brugge agreed on a fee of around €37 million with Brentford for the player during the January window, but the transfer did not go through eventually. It seems that the Belgian outfit are holding out for a similar fee in the summer.
Tottenham need to bring in a quality wide player and Nusa would be a superb long-term investment for them. The Norwegian international has the potential to develop into a top-class winger with the right guidance. He will add goals and creativity from the wide areas. He will also help Tottenham breakdown deep defences with his pace and trickery.
The winger will be attracted to the idea of playing in the Premier League and Tottenham will be an attractive destination for him. The north London outfit are well placed to secure Champions League qualification and it remains to be seen whether they can finish in the top four.
The reported €37 million asking price might seem like a premium right now but Nusa has the quality to justify the investment in the coming seasons. The winger has four goals and four assists to his name across all competitions this season.
