Tottenham in three way race to sign unsettled Man United star

By Bruce Grove -

A report has named Tottenham as one of three teams that are looking to sign Manchester United goalkeeper, Dean Henderson.

The Englishman has been playing second-fiddle to David de Gea at United this season despite his fine form when he turned out for Sheffield United on loan in the last campaign.

He was one of the best goalies in the Premier League and his performances even earned him an England cap.

But he is now facing a serious battle with De Gea to become the first choice at his parent club.

The Spaniard is winning the battle now with Henderson only getting minutes in the cup competitions.

However, this summer will be decision time with the Red Devils having to choose from one of the two goalies.

If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decides that he wants De Gea to remain his first choice, Henderson will leave and Manchester Evening News claims Tottenham, West Ham and Chelsea are interested in signing him.

Spurs have one of the most respected keepers in the world in Hugo Lloris, but he has been linked with a move to PSG in this campaign.

He is also not getting any younger and making the 23-year-old Henderson his replacement would be a fine move by the club.

It emerged we were in a one horse race to bag Bruno Fernandes, so I wouldn’t get too excited just yet.

Johnstone looking pretty useful, and he’s playing every week. Looks as good or better than Henderson imo.

£18m on transfermarket, 3 or 4 times that in reality. Wonder how much we’d get for Monsieur Hugo given his spag bowl arms recently.

This would be an excellent signing ..but buying a player from a rival club is always tough, they will not want to strengthen there competition.
