Tottenham in ‘front row’ to sign South American star, club ‘waiting for the right offer’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Juventus defender Gleison Bremer this summer.

A report from Tuttosport claims that Spurs are in the ‘front row’ to secure the Brazilian’s services and Juventus are ‘waiting for the right offer’.

It appears that the Italian giants are going through financial difficulties after missing out on Champions League qualification and they need to make sacrifices in the market.

They need to raise around €50-60 million through a player sale and Bremer is one of the few players in the side capable of fetching that kind of money.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to pay big money for him.

Tottenham need to tighten up at the back and Brazilian would be a solid acquisition. He has shown his quality in Italy with Torino and Juventus. He has the attributes to do well in England as well.

Signing a central defender should be Tottenham’s top priority. Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier were quite mediocre last season. Clement Lenglet has left the club to return to his parent club, Barcelona.

Cristian Romero is the only reliable central defender at the club right now.

The report from Tuttosport claims that Spurs are keeping tabs on Marc Guehi, Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven as well.

If Juventus are unreasonable with their demands, it won’t be surprising if Spurs decided to move on to other targets.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs follow up on their interest with a substantial offer now.
