3 Out And 3 Late Fitness Tests Ahead Of Tomorrow’s Villa vs Spurs Clash

By The Boy -

The Tottenham players must be feeling somewhat relieved that fans aren’t allowed into stadiums this season. The reactions online have been angry, to put it mildly and were it not for the COVID restrictions more generally I could see protest outside the stadium. I don’t believe ENIC how restless and frankly hurt people have become. And while we’re on the point, Mr. Levy may wish to consider his position before making any statements or decisions as the ‘white noise’ element of fans who think a change of manager would improve matters appears to be dwindling even in the unchecked melting pot of social media.

For tomorrow’s clash, Tottenham will be without Sonny who is still in rehabilitation for his thigh injury. Erik Lamela is obviously suspended.

For Aston Villa, Jack Grealish will take a late fitness test on Sunday morning. Villa gaffer Dean Smith told Physioroom: “I’m hopeful for Jack. I’ll leave it until Sunday AM. He’s not trained with us, but he’s pain-free, and he’s running. Ultimately, it will be his decision.”

Further late fitness tests await Kortney Hause and Bertrand Isidore Traoré. Wesley Moraes Ferreira da Silva is ruled out with a kneed injury.

This is Spurs’ first game against Aston Villa this season and one that requires some players to take a long hard look at themselves – nothing else. We shall see, if against a Premier League side just beneath us in the table, if they have anything to add to the damaging washout of their last two performances.

The arrogance is beyond belief.

The chasm between the players and the fans is the furthest it has ever been. We have gone from players on minimum wage getting the bus with the fans to the ground, to this.

People played football because it was the only thing that they wanted to do, it wasn’t for the money, it was the love of the game.

Life moves on, so being realistic, this is ultimately just a job to these guys, some may have the love as they are playing for the club they supported as a boy. But most it’s just an incredibly well paid job giving them an amazing life.

I am sure the focus from the media is irritating and the abuse will be horrendous. That is not right and being abused for doing/ not doing your job by customers is something we wouldn’t suffer in our jobs. That’s football rightly or wrongly, ultimately it’s theatre, they are performers and on a good day the heroes, the bad days the pantomime villains.

Football to the fans is different, it’s tribal, it’s heart breaking, it’s glorious, it’s family, it’s depths of despair and euphoric highs. We live it, we love it, we hate it. We give everything, our money, our time, our passion and our hearts.

What we expect is maximum effort, we don’t like our team to lose, it ruins our weekend, but it happens, what we can’t stomach is when an over paid, over privileged footballer stops playing for the fans. That’s not acceptable.

So chins up, put your big boy pants on, respect the shirt, respect the club, respect the fans and respect yourself.

Give blood, sweat and tears and the fans will be with you, give up, then you are nothing to us

What Gauls me the most is the total lack of any self respect for themselves and their craft. whatever happened to having pride in what you do ?

What’s worse is their lack of respect for the fans. That appalls me the most. If you don’t do for yourself, you do it for those who support you week in week out.

These players have lost my support. Why should I, or anyone give them anything when they really don’t give a damm about us or importantly the club we support.

Yep definitely

The right backs are dreadful, i didn’t like Trippier and was undecided on KWP. Just don’t know how other clubs seem to buy half decent full backs and we just buy incompetent buffoons

I hope Tanganga plays RB tomorrow, as none of the other two have exactly staked a claim for the spot.

Surely Doherty, Dier, Dele will not be starting tomorrow. Although i have a horrible feeling Doherty will after Auriers pathetic showing the other night. Haven’t we got a cone we can stick at right back?

If any of them do i will be watching Songs of Praise and any of the other Sh!te that is on a Sunday night these days

Grealish must be desperate to play tomorrow, if that Croatian lad can slalom thru our team whats Grealish gonna do.

We must be nailed on to give away a pen tomorrow as we didn’t on Thursday.

Apologies these imbeciles and charlatans have driven me mad.
