Tottenham Hotspur are exploring the possibility of signing a new striker

Tottenham Hotspur seem to be planning for alternatives to Harry Kane.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from the London club this summer and Tottenham are reportedly keeping tabs on his French international teammate Randal Kolo Muani as a potential alternative.

According to journalist Christian Falk via CaughtOffside, Tottenham have already registered an interest with the representatives of the 24-year-old French international striker.

“[Kylian] Mbappe asked Paris Saint-Germain to go for the striker of his national team and also Tottenham have registered an interest with the representatives of Muani, but the eventual transfer fee could be too high,” Falk said in his exclusive column.

Kolo Muani had an exceptional campaign with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga scoring 23 goals across all competitions and picking up 17 assists along the way.

Apparently, the north London club will face competition from Manchester United as well who are big admirers of the 24-year-old striker.

Kolo Muani has all the attributes to develop into a top-class forward and he could prove to be a solid long-term investment.

The striker is entering his peak years and he will look to make his mark in the Premier League. The opportunity to showcase his qualities in English football will be an attractive option for the player and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are ready to pay the big bucks for him.

Christian Falk believes that the fee could be too high for the talented young striker but Tottenham are likely to have the finances to sign him after the departure of Harry Kane.

The England international is likely to fetch a substantial amount of money this summer.

While Kane remains the better player for now, Kolo Muani certainly has the potential to develop into an indispensable asset for Tottenham in the long run.

That said, Tottenham will be without Champions League football next season and it remains to be seen whether the French international striker is ready to join them without the attraction of Champions League football.
