Tottenham hold talks with £35m star’s representatives, player keen to join in January

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign Jean-Clair Todibo when the transfer window reopens in January.

A report from Daily Mail claims that Tottenham have held further talks with the player’s representatives regarding a potential transfer and the French international is keen to join the club next month.

Apparently, the defender could cost around £35 million for the 23-year-old could prove to be a bargain at that price.

He has established himself as one of the best defenders in the French league and there is no doubt that he has the technical and physical attributes to succeed in the Premier League as well.

Tottenham defender Eric Dier has been linked with a January exit and summer signing Micky van de Ven is sidelined with an injury.

Signing a central defender will be a top priority for Ange Postecoglou and they will be delighted with the fact that the Frenchman is keen on the transfer.

The 23-year-old is likely to improve further with coaching and experience and he could develop into a key player for them in the coming seasons. That said, Todibo is already operating at a high level and he would improve them in the short term as well.

The defender certainly has the ability to justify the £35 million investment and Spurs will hope that he can make an immediate impact and help them secure Champions League qualification.

Todibo has been linked with other English clubs in recent months as well and Tottenham should look to move swiftly and secure his signature before their rivals pounce.
