Tottenham have received a fresh bid from European outfit for 25-year-old – report

Tottenham are nearing a resolution regarding the future of defender Emerson Royal, who is poised to leave the club this summer.

Spurs have received a substantial bid for Emerson, matching the club’s valuation of the player.

According to PL Brasil, Galatasaray have submitted a bid that aligns with Tottenham’s asking price of €20 million.

However, the report states the despite the better offer from the Turkish club, the player is expected to sign for AC Milan.

With Emerson’s contract running until June 2026, Spurs are eager to sell him, as he does not fit into manager Ange Postecoglou’s plans for the team. This transfer window presents a crucial opportunity for the Lilywhites to move him on.

AC Milan have had a long-standing interest in Emerson, having initially sought to acquire him during the January transfer window.

It has been reported that the player has already agreed personal terms with the Italian outfit and is keen on signing for them. However, the two clubs are yet to come to an agreement regarding the fee.

It was reported by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio yesterday that the gap between Spurs’ asking price and Milan’s offer is reportedly narrowing and a deal could be agreed soon.

Throughout the past season, Emerson struggled to secure a regular starting position under Postecoglou. He made 22 Premier League appearances, starting only 11 times, often serving as a secondary option in the backline.

Should the deal with Milan be finalised, Emerson is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Italian giants. This transfer would allow Tottenham to recoup a significant portion of their initial €25 million investment made when they signed him from Barcelona in 2021.

As the transfer window continues, the focus will be on Spurs and Milan to see if they can finalize the agreement.
