Tottenham have ‘asked about’ highly-rated Bundesliga attacker

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly keen on signing the Bayern Munich winger Mathys Tel on loan during the January transfer window.

A report via FCB Inside claims that two clubs wanted to sign the French winger on a temporary deal but the German outfit knocked back the approaches.

Tottenham Hotspur and Werder Bremen ‘expressed interest’ in signing the player and ‘asked about’ Tel.

The French under-21 international has been a squad player for Bayern Munich this season and he will need to play more often at this stage of his career to continue his development and fulfil his potential.

A loan move could be ideal for him right now but it seems that the German outfit are unwilling to weaken their squad midway through the season.

The report claims that the winger is highly rated within the club and the Bundesliga giants believe that he could develop into an important player for the club in the near future.

The 18-year-old has a big future ahead of him and Bayern Munich should pay close attention to his development and help him improve with ample first team action. If they cannot provide him with the opportunity, they should look to send him out on loan in the coming months.

The report from Sport BILD via FCB Inside claims that the club hierarchy could be open to sending the 18-year-old out on loan at the end of the season.  They are waiting to improve their attacking options first and Serhou Guirassy is on their radar.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs decide to come back for him with another loan proposal at the end of the season.

The north London outfit signed Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig in January and it is fair to assume that the German forward was probably an alternative to the Frenchman.
