Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made contact with the representatives of Marcus Thuram as they look to secure the services of the French attacker in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Thuram, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, has caught the attention of several top clubs across Europe including Manchester United, Newcastle, Inter Milan and Juventus.
The 25-year-old forward has been in impressive form for Borussia Monchengladbach, scoring 42 goals and providing 26 assists in 127 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
With the future of Tottenham’s star striker Harry Kane in doubt, the addition of Thuram would be a welcome boost for the North London club.
The Frenchman’s versatility to play on the wing as well as upfront would provide an added dimension to Spurs’ attack.
Tottenham will be looking to add more firepower to their squad, with Arnaut Danjuma set to return to his parent club. The addition of Thuram would be a shrewd move for Spurs, considering that he will be available on a free transfer.
Borussia Monchengladbach have accepted that they will lose Thuram on a free transfer and are resigned to the fact that they cannot hold on to the talented attacker.
Thuram is expected to have a number of suitors in the summer, and Tottenham will face tough competition to secure his services.
However, if Spurs can secure the signing of Thuram, it would be a major coup for the club.
