Tottenham has proposed an offer to land Serie A defender

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham needs to improve their backline this summer, and the English club is ready to double dip and possibly take another play from Atalanta this summer.

According to TyC Sports’ César Luis Merlo, Tottenham is in advance talks with Argentine defender Cristian Romero. The report states that the Premier League side offers €40-million plus €10-million in bonus to Atalanta.

Furthermore, Romero would sign a contract that would keep him with Tottenham until 2026. After joining the club in 2020, it appears as though the Italian club is ready to cash in on the 23-year-old.

Romero has made 42 appearances for Atalanta while scoring three goals and registering five assists. At the international level, the defender was part of the Argentina national team that won the Copa America this summer, ending the country’s 28-year trophy drought.

Now it seems as though Romero could be eyeing a move to the Premier League to join Tottenham. The ball will now be with Atalanta and whether they want to sell or not.
