Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Genoa defender Koni De Winter at the end of the season, and the Italian outfit are prepared to let him move on.

The player has been extensively linked with a move to the English club in recent weeks. According to TMW, the defender is valued at €30 million, and Tottenham certainly have the financial resources to get the deal done.

The 22-year-old Belgian defender has done quite well for the Italian outfit, and he could prove to be a quality long-term investment for Tottenham as well. They need more depth in the defensive unit, especially with Cristian Romero linked with an exit in the summer.

Koni De Winter would be a quality signing

De Winter has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League, and he could be a key player for Tottenham with the right guidance. The opportunity to move to English football will be quite exciting for the young defender as well. It would be a major step up in his career, and he would get to test himself at the highest level.

Regular football in England could accelerate his development and help Koni De Winter fulfil his top-class potential.

The reported asking price seems quite reasonable for a player of his potential, and he could easily justify the investment in the coming season. The deal could prove to be a major bargain for Tottenham if the defender manages to adapt to English football quickly.

The fact that Genoa won’t stand in his way this summer will come as a major boost for Tottenham. It remains to be seen whether they follow up on their interest with an official proposal to sign the player in the coming weeks.
