Tottenham handed boost in their pursuit of 24-year-old versatile PL ace

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah in recent weeks.

A report from Football Insider claims that the 24-year-old is not a part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans at Stamford Bridge and the Argentine manager has now opened the door to a potential Tottenham move in January.

Pochettino has reportedly informed the defender that he is not a key part of his plans anymore and he is free to move on. Chalobah has been linked with Bayern Munich as well.

The defender is yet to play a single minute for Chelsea this season and he will want to get his career back on track with regular football. If Tottenham can promise him ample game time, he could be keen on a move to the north London club.

Tottenham need to bring in a defender after Micky van de Ven’s injury and Chalobah could be a useful option for them. The 24-year-old is capable of operating as a central defender as well as a full-back. He could be an asset for Ange Postecoglou in the long run.

He has shown his quality with Chelsea in the past and regular football at Tottenham could help him achieve his potential.

Given his situation at Chelsea, he could be available for a reasonable price as well. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks.
