Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham are long-term admirers of the player, and they have now been handed a major boost in their pursuit of the 23-year-old.
Former Premier League scout Mick Brown has revealed that Aston Villa would be open to selling the player for the right price in the summer.
Aston Villa open to a sale
Brown said: “He’s played in midfield and out wide without really managing to establish himself anywhere.
“There are players ahead of him in both positions, so if a big offer comes in I think they’ll sell.
“From his point of view as well, he’ll want to be playing regular first-team football at this stage of his career and I don’t think he’ll get that at Villa.
“So it could be a deal that works for all parties, providing the fee is right, and I’m sure there won’t be a shortage of interest because he’s a talented player.”
Jacob Ramsey needs a fresh start

Ramsey has struggled for regular game time at the West Midlands club, and he needs to play more often. Tottenham might be able to provide him with that opportunity. They need more creativity and technical ability in the final third, and Ramsey would be the ideal acquisition.
He can operate as a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder, as well as on the flanks. He will add goals and creativity to the Tottenham attack. His ability to slot into multiple roles will be a bonus.
The player is still quite young, and he could improve with coaching and experience. He has the technical attributes to develop into a top-class Premier League midfielder with the right guidance.
Tottenham could bring out the best in him and help him fulfil his tremendous potential. It remains to be seen whether they come forward with an offer to sign the player in the coming weeks.
It has been a disappointing season for them, and they need quality players to bounce back strongly. The 23-year-old midfielder could be the ideal acquisition for them. He has started just 18 league games for Aston Villa this season, and he is likely to be tempted if Tottenham come calling.
