The agent of Victor Osimhen doesn’t appear keen on taking his client to Tottenham and he has warned that with Harry Kane remaining, Osimhen might not join Spurs because he won’t play as much as he should.
Osimhen has turned heads with his performances for Lille in his first season at the French side and several European teams are looking to sign him this summer.
He only joined the French side last season, but Tottenham is now reportedly looking to take him to England as a cover for Harry Kane.
However, that would be a problem because the player’s camp wants him to move to a team where he can continue to play games regularly.
Kane is Tottenham’s undisputed number one striker and the Englishman will remain so unless he leaves the team.
However, when he has been unavailable, Spurs have suffered and Jose Mourinho wants to correct that in the next transfer window.
But if he wants Osimhen, he might have to sell Kane, according to his agent, Ariyo Igbayilola.
Igbayilola told The Cable, “We told Mourinho that if he wants Victor, will Harry Kane be leaving?,
“If Harry Kane is still play for Tottenham will Victor play? Because he will always be benched for him.
“Kane is their number one striker and he is the captain of England, all these will always work for him in the club but at Victor’s detriment.
“He needs a club where he will always play full game week in, week out. Not to be kept on the bench.”
You could argue the same point at Man City with Aguero being the number one choice. Jesus in the last 3 seasons has played lots of games. The rotation has rested both players when needed and allowed Aguero to be played when needed. Injuries are part and parcel of football, unfortunately Kane is susceptible because of his bone China ankles. We needed a quality back up 4 years ago, that has not changed.
