Tottenham get right-back transfer boost following latest update

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham have been handed a boost in their bid to land Timothy Castagne from Atalanta this summer after the player’s agent hinted at his client leaving the Italians.

Atalanta has emerged as one of the top teams in Italy over the past few seasons, and they even reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season.

The defender has been an important part of their rise in Italian football so far, and he is being targeted by a number of top European sides.

Tottenham have long been linked with a move for him and now that they have sold Kyle Walker-Peters to Southampton, Serge Aurier will probably get new competition.

The Ivorian is one player that might leave the club before the end of this transfer window, and Castagne could become the player that replaces him or comes in as competition to him.

His agent, Zenon Melon, spoke about the Belgian’s future recently.

“Timothy has done very well in the last three seasons,” Melon told HLM via Football-Italia.

“But I don’t think he can do more than what he did at Atalanta.

“Now we will evaluate all the options.

“The player, until yesterday, was focused on the Champions League. Now, let’s see how the market evolves.”

Probably coz the club knew he was leaving & wanted to be loyal to the player in his position that was staying next season.
