Tottenham ‘firmly in the race’ to sign £17m-rated attacker, four other PL clubs keen

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Swedish winger Roony Bardghji.

A report from Daily Express claims that the North London outfit are ‘firmly in the race’ to sign the 18-year-old attacker who has been in impressive form for Copenhagen this season.

He has 11 goals across all competitions and he has impressed with his performances in the UEFA Champions League, including a splendid winner against Manchester United.

The report from Express claims that Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brighton are all keen on securing his services and there could be a bidding war in the summer. Apparently, the winger is valued at £17 million and the Premier League clubs certainly have the financial resources to afford him.

Tottenham could use a versatile attacker like him and it remains to be seen whether they can beat the competition from their Premier League rivals and sign the player. They are currently well placed to secure Champions League qualification and that could give them an edge over the other four clubs.

Chelsea and Brighton are unlikely to make it to the Champions League next season. Manchester United and Aston Villa are still in with a chance, but Tottenham are certainly better placed to make it to the top four by the end of the season.

Bardghji will want to compete at the highest level and the opportunity to join a Premier League club like Tottenham will be an incredible opportunity for him. Regular football in England could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his potential.

Tottenham have employed a free flowing attacking system under their new manager and the 18-year-old winger could thrive in Ange Postecoglou’s system.

If Tottenham manage to sign him for the reported £17 million valuation, the transfer could look like a major bargain in the coming seasons.
