Protesting Spurs fans plotting second plane & banner before the first one has taken off

By The Boy -

Protests at Spurs are like buses… except they’re privately hired planes. How the well heeled activists live, eh? You wait and you wait and the two come along almost at once. The seething mob behind the #LevyOut protest this afternoon are already plotting a second plane banner and are appealing to their followers for suggestions as to what the second motif ought to say.

As I’ve made clear, these boys have missed the boat with this one, and the time for effective protest was just after Villas-Boas quit. At that stage, White Hart Lane hadn’t been demolished, and more importantly, the club hadn’t been saddled with nigh on a billion pounds worth of debt.

As ever, you ask folk for serious suggestions and a gem or two are unearthed. Banner to fly over the Leicester City game?

We have a winner.

It’s not my money, good muck to them if they can afford it. If someone isn’t doing their job properly they need to be told. Whoever they are and however untouchable they might seem.

😆 No it won’t do any harm, but it’s not going to solve anything either… Levy won’t see the banner and sell up. Nor will he change his ways. Pretty pointless and a waste of money for whoevers forking out.. Maybe an email or letter would be more appropriate. Can fit more words in that way.

Jose was asked about the plane, but he said it wasn’t enough like a bus to be defensively effective!

Will it do any harm? To let the c**nts upstairs what you think of them?

If there is no democratic vote for chairman etc (as they have in Europe), so a vote of no confidence isn’t possible. Therefore the default position for any functioning democracy is to allow freedom of speech if there can be no political representation.

Levy & Co are fair game and criticism is healthy, as Marbs has already said, it took a long time for the Berlin Wall to come down…

Definitely if the horse was Shergar.

Though I prefer Red Rum as voiced by Danny in The Shining.

Totally agree, the idea of Levy and ENIC sitting comfy with no signs of unrest at all from the supporters just doesn’t feel right.

The logic that as “ENIC are going nowhere” that the fans shouldn’t bother voicing their displeasure is utter garbage. Of course they should, why the f**ck not? How will it hurt?

Support the team but tell the owners you aren’t happy with the set up ffs. It’s the right thing to do.

What’s the history of fan resistance to club regimes. Recently we have Arsenal, it was estimated that ten per cent actively protested. What stopped that figure rising was that Wenger had won numerous Premier League titles and FA Cups. Did the protests make any difference to the Kroenkes, I’d say no.
Then there is Mike Ashley at Newcastle United. Fans have been boycotting games and protesting but it has made no difference.
Manchester United, not a fan revolt more a bubbling unhappiness, like Spurs now. Made no difference. What made things change was probably the threat of corporate sponsors reducing their financial input. Though as the football declined at United the profits increased.

Better late than never.

The horse may have already bolted, but constantly telling eveyone you knew it would escape, and that it’s pointless sending out a search party? That only helps the horse.

As for a plane banner…

I told you so! – Harry Hotspur.

Most amusing Larry David allusion but as a fellow Curb Your Enthusiasm devotee, I must disagree about flying the banner. I appreciate that it is too late in the cycle but at least it shows some resistance from our generally supine fans. I know you were ahead of the game, but supporters are finally waking up to the nightmare that is Enic. What else should they do? After all, it took forty five years for the Berlin Wall to come down.

My boy troy. Nice little brace son. Your time is coming. On the banner I’d put “come on you spurs.. Had a little chat with troy once at the lamex. Said to him ” janson’s rubbish ain’t he? You’re way better than him already. He laughed🌚
