Tottenham facing serious competition from Atalanta for young Turkish international

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham is interested in a move for Merih Demiral as Fabio Paratici begins work in London.

The Turkish defender has been on the books of Juventus since 2019, but he has struggled to play regularly.

He is the fourth choice defender in Turin behind the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini and Matthijs de Ligt.

He remains a part of their squad, but he is mostly only considered for selection when those above him are not available for action.

The Bianconeri are also bringing a young defender, Radu Dragusin through the first team door at the club and he is now a part of their squad.

Reports in Italy via Football Italia says they will sell Demiral or Dragusin this summer as Massimiliano Allegri attempts to cut down the number of players he would work with.

Tottenham is now looking to bring him to England and he would probably cost them around 30m to 40m euros.

They also face competition from Atalanta who has found Juve to be a happy hunting ground recently.

They signed Cristian Romero from the Old Lady at the start of last season and he was one of the best defenders in Italy in the campaign.

Spurs should be able to offer Demiral more in wages if they can reach an agreement with Juventus.

Every institution is infested, nothing is salvageable, especially the mainstream media. They all sing from the same hymn sheet. Orban is great; if only we could have a political party like his as an option in the UK.

I agree that they’re not thinking clearly in that moment, but it just seems unnatural, petulant, and especially pointless in football. If VAR was fit for purpose, Germany would have finished the game (sixty-odd minutes) with 10 men for that, and France would probably have run riot.

I can understand kicking or otherwise hitting the opponent, but biting always seemed a weird one to me.

He’s nearly 37 now, looking stiff and slow compared to ten years ago. He used to be one of the best but not anymore.

Usually it’s a sign of desperation, rush of adrenaline, the wish and will to win.. Unproffessional of course and extremely unsporting, it is an assault… Luiz Suerez and Mike Tyson springs to mind.

The pandemic and its impact have hit THFC hard financially according to Levy and we face austerity for the foreseeable future if we are to remain a “self sustaining” football club. However, things appear much more optimistic and brighter on the property development front for ENIC as they continue unabated with their primary focus of land and property development. Do I sense a further chunk of debt financing to leverage this little puppy of a real estate opportunity.

Notorious racism non-sufferer Rudiger just bit Pogba on the back. What the f- is going on, no VAR? Moreover, why the hell would anyone think biting is the way to gain an edge in a match?

Amazing. Hilarious the commentators clearly told to not discuss it. Kinda destroys the narrative doesn’t it? It was like the big elephant in the room. Hungary’s PM is a legend, I may move there.😃

Brilliant crowd in Budapest. Again. Nobody sick or dying, just life as it should be. Why didn’t they do the Euros in Hungary? Great atmosphere, compared to England and Scotland with their echoey empty stadiums.
