Tottenham faces August deadline in bid to sign Serie A target

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham has been handed a deadline in their bid to add Dusan Vlahovic to their squad this summer.

The Fiorentina striker is on the radar of the Lilywhites and the Italians are open to selling him.

However, they will not wait forever and a new report is claiming that they will soon shut the door in Tottenham’s face until next summer.

Fabio Paratici has been looking at adding players from Serie A, from where he joined Tottenham, having worked at Juventus for a decade.

The new football director wanted to sign Vlahovic for the Old Lady and now wants him in London.

Juve also wants him and Fiorentina will prefer to sell him to a club outside Italy, which gives Tottenham the upper hand.

However, the Lilywhites might miss out on signing him if they don’t table an offer for him soon.

This is because Corriere dello Sport, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb claims that Fiorentina will not sell him this summer if an offer doesn’t arrive by the 15th of August.

The Italians want to plan for the new season and if Tottenham cannot bid for him by the middle of this month, they will keep him and tie him down to a new deal.

His current one expires in two years and that makes him cheaper to sign now before he extends it.

If winks dier and Davies get “dropped off anywhere I’ll be a very happy man. Can’t see more than 3 leaving.

The window seems to follow a pattern for Spurs – we do get the ‘on pain of death do you miss out on buying cover in this position’ signings done on time (we have needed a first choice central defender for a couple of seasons now) and then most of the rest go into the deadline day tombola and we look for the biggest bargain…not the best match for the squad.

If we really are getting the Kane money in the near future you would have liked to think the strategy could have changed for one window

Let’s hope we sign all our new recruits in the next few days and then spend the rest of the window getting rid of the deadwood and the players who no longer wish to stay here.
