Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Dominic Solanke and they are expected to make a move for him at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old Bournemouth striker will not leave the Cherries this month, but a move in the summer could be on the cards.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that he expects Spurs to move for the former Chelsea and Liverpool striker in the summer. Solanke has been impressive for this season, scoring 13 goals across all competitions.
Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “Bournemouth sources deny Newcastle have made an enquiry for Dominic Solanke, a player Magpies boss Eddie Howe actually signed. But Solanke is absolutely on a list of potential summer targets for Newcastle.
“I don’t think anything is possible in January. Bournemouth will resist a sale, and Newcastle can’t afford to buy now. Solanke is also thriving and stands a chance of a place at Euro 2024 on this form. It would be risky moving and disrupting his goalscoring rhythm.
“I expect Newcastle, and potentially Spurs, to try for Solanke in the summer”.
Newcastle United are keen on securing his services as well. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe signed the player during his time at Bournemouth and he could be keen on a reunion.
Both Tottenham and Newcastle need to bring in a quality striker and Solanke would be a solid investment. The 26-year-old has been quite impressive in the Premier League this season and he could hit the ground running at Newcastle or next season.
The opportunity to join a big club will be a tempting proposition for him and he is likely to be attracted to the idea of playing for the two clubs. Both Tottenham and Newcastle will be pushing to secure Champions League qualification for the next season and it remains to be seen whether they can finish the season strongly.
Spurs need a quality striker to fill the void left by Harry Kane and the 26-year-old striker certainly fits the profile. Apart from his ability to score goals, his hold up play and physicality could add a new dimension to Ange Postecoglou’s attack. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can beat Newcastle to his signature.
