Tottenham have lowered the asking price for the services of Emerson Royal amidst interest from AC Milan.
Tottenham Hotspur are expected to make major changes to their squad in the upcoming transfer window. While the focus will be on signing top-quality players to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s team, they will also look to sanction a few departures.
Emerson Royal is a player that has been linked with a move away from the club and according to a report from Gazzetta Dello Sport via SportWitness, Tottenham have just lowered their asking price for the Brazilian international by €10 million. It could be a massive boost for AC Milan who are keen on having the full-back in their squad.
The former Barcelona defender has fallen down the pecking order under Postecoglou. The 25-year-old has only had limited game time during the 2023/24 season and the majority of those came because of an injury crisis at the back.
While Emerson still has two years left on his deal at Spurs, he looks keen on making a move away in search of regular first-team action. The Brazilian can feature anywhere in defence and Milan believe he could add a lot of depth as well as quality to their ranks.
But, the financial demands of the London club were a touch on the higher side for them. With the player keen on a move to Italy, the asking price was the only problem for Milan. However, the report suggests that Tottenham have lowered the asking price from €30 million to €20 million.
Lowering the asking price by €10 million is not something Daniel Levy would do, especially with so much time left. Meanwhile, Milan are working hard to reach an agreement, they have made new contacts with the player’s representatives and it will be interesting to see if they do end up making a move in the near future.
