Tottenham ‘do not stop calling’ according to Mundo Deportivo

Spurs are on the hunt for more reinforcements for their newly installed head coach Ange Postecoglou. The early signs were that Spurs looks to get their business done briskly, and fans will hope that more can be achieved before flying off to get stuck into the preseason.

Reliable Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo believes that Tottenham, along with other big European outfits. PSG and Manchester United are keen on brokering a deal with 18-year-old Vitor Roque.

This young Brazilian appears to be at the heart of a financial minefield, which includes Barcelona having entered into a complex pre-agreement with Atlético Paraense which includes a €35 million –  €45 million worth of bonuses, whereas, other interested parties could be in a position to pay this CONMEBOL Libertadores runner-up to three times the salary he might be expecting in Spain.

Of course, there is said to be the ‘obligatory’ €1 billion release clause, which quite frankly is something that we might leave to one side at this stage.

Given Barça’s delicate financial situation, the Catalans are thought to prefer to pay for the player in instalments, but Brazilians in such instances would prefer Viktor to remain with them until January.

Undoubtedly, ‘do not stop calling’ is the language of an agent seeking to move the situation with Barcelona along, however, this need not rule out the opportunity for a hijack, or sorts, if Spurs were so inclined.

22 goals and 9 assists for Paraense in 66 appearances are not to be sniffed at, and Spurs could do with an up-and-coming attacking force, especially for an attack-minded coach who also favours youth players, like Postecoglou.
