Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with the move for the Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
The 24-year-old has been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and a report from the Telegraph claims that Tottenham could make a firm move for him in the summer.
His value continues to depreciate because of his contract situation. Gallagher will be out of contract next summer and Chelsea are under pressure to cash in on him. The two parties have not been able to secure an agreement regarding a contract extension.
Along with Tottenham, clubs like Newcastle United are keen on the English midfielder as well. The report from the Telegraph claims that Tottenham were quoted £50 million for the midfielder when they wanted to sign him at the start of the season.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to pay that kind of money for him. The 24-year-old has established himself as a key player for Chelsea and he has captained them multiple times this season.
His energetic displays have drawn praise from fans as well as pundits. He could prove to be the ideal fit for Tottenham’s current style of play and manager Ange Postecoglou is reportedly a ‘huge fan’ of the player according to Telegraph.
Chelsea were previously reluctant to sell the player to rival clubs like Liverpool and Tottenham. It remains to be seen whether the Blues are prepared to sell him to Tottenham in the summer now.
