Tottenham could part ways with Richarlison to fund Dominic Solanke’s signing.
In less than two weeks, the new Premier League season will get underway and Tottenham still have a lot to take care of. Throughout the summer their priority has been to reinforce their attack but they haven’t been able to strike a deal for any of their targets. However, they do seem optimistic about signing Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke just in time for the new season.
According to a report from The Times, the North London club could part ways with Richarlison to fund the signing of the former Liverpool striker. The Brazilian international joined Spurs back in the summer of 2022 for a massive £60 million from Everton. Tottenham hoped that the 27-year-old would be the answer up top in attack but he hasn’t been able to live up to the expectations. While he has done a decent job, he hasn’t emerged as a leader of the attack.
In his debut Premier League campaign, Richarlison could only manage a goal. While the tally did go up to 11 last season, it still isn’t considered to be good enough. Following the departure of Harry Kane last summer, Ange Postecoglou tried the Brazilian as well as Son Heung-min as a number nine but he is not satisfied by their performances and wants a proven goal scorer to lead his line.
Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke is at the top of their wishlist but he has a massive £65 million release and Spurs are hoping to partly fund the transfer by offloading Richarlison. The Brazilian international is wanted by Al-Ahli but they will have to do a lot of convincing as he did make it clear towards the end of last season that he has no intentions of leaving England despite interest from the Middle East.
