Tottenham confident they can agree a deal with attacker who has 13 goals and 6 assists; have already opened talks

According to the latest from Football Insider, Tottenham ‘have opened talks’ with skipper Heung-min Son over a new deal at the club.

The report claims that initial talks between the player and the club have been held and that Spurs are ‘confident’ that a deal will be finalised in the summer.

Son has less than 18 months remaining on his contract, which is scheduled to expire on June 30 of the following year.

The South Korean international has been Spurs’ leading goalscorer this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 6 assists in 23 Premier League appearances.

Son’s form is key for Spurs as they navigate through the crucial stage of the season.

Ange Postecoglou’s side currently sit 5th in the league with 50 points, trailing Aston Villa by 5 points, though Spurs have a game in hand.

Spurs signed Son back in 2015 for €30 million from Bayer Leverkusen.

Since then, he as racked up 396 appearances for the club, scoring 158 and assisting 86. (Transfermarkt)

Son’s brilliant performances has started to attract interest including from Saudi Arabia who are reportedly keen on signing him this summer.

But as per recent reports, the Spurs talisman has told his friends that he intends to stay in the Premier League with Spurs.
