Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in a quality striker before the January window closes and they have identified Stefanos Tzimas as a target.
The player is currently on loan at the second-division German club FC Nurnberg and he has impressed during his time in German football. The 19-year-old striker has 10 goals in all competitions and Nurnberg have an option to sign in permanently for a fee of around €18 million.
The German outfit are prepared to complete the deal and sell him for a profit of around €25 million (£21m) plus bonuses. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to pay up.
Aston Villa and Brighton are keen on signing the highly rated striker as well. According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham are currently engaged in ‘concrete talks and negotiations’ to get the deal done. He adds that the player has a preference towards Brighton.

Tottenham spent a substantial amount of money on Dominic Solanke at the start of the season, but they need more depth in the side. The England International needs more support in the attack and Tzimas could be the ideal long-term investment for them. He has the potential to develop into a reliable goal-scorer in the Premier League and regular football in England could accelerate his development.
The opportunity to move to Tottenham will be quite exciting for the player. It would be a major step up for him from the second division of German football. He has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in the English top flight and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
The €25 million valuation seems reasonable for a player of his potential and he could easily justify the outlay in the future. Tottenham certainly have the financial resources to get the deal done, and they should look to iron out an agreement soon.
