Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson in recent months.
The 25-year-old central defender is expected to leave the Turkish club in the upcoming transfer window, and he has fallen down the pecking order as well. He needs to leave in order to play regularly and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to provide him with an exit route.
A report from Sabah via SportWitness claims that the defender could be available for a fee of around €10 million and the Denmark international is considering an exit in January.
Signing him for the reported fee could prove to be a major bargain for of London club. It is no surprise that Tottenham are looking to bring in defensive reinforcements, especially with players like Micky van de Ven sidelined with injuries.
Nelsson could prove to be a useful acquisition for them during the second half of the season. The 25-year-old has proven his quality in the Turkish league, and he will want to make his mark in the Premier League as well.
The defender is likely to improve with coaching and experience in the coming seasons. Tottenham need a deeper squad to compete for major trophies and signing a quality central should be a priority for them in January.
They invested in players like Ashley Phillips and Van de Ven during the summer transfer window and the arrival of Nelsson would sort out their defensive unit for the foreseeable future.
