Tottenham boost with key Arsenal man set to miss North London derby

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham will face Arsenal in the Premier League next week as they continue their fine start to the season that has had some of their fans dreaming of winning the Premier League.

The Lilywhites drew goalless with Chelsea this weekend after they had beaten Manchester City 2-0 in the previous round of games.

They remain top of the Premier League title as Liverpool also dropped two points at the weekend.

They will face the struggling Gunners in the league next and they have been handed an early boost from Arsenal’s camp.

Arsenal’s summer signing Thomas Partey injured himself in the club’s 3-0 loss to Aston Villa and the Ghanaian has been sidelined since that time.

He has missed games for both his club and country and he is set to miss the game against Spurs this weekend too.

Mikel Arteta confirmed his absence on Sunday evening.

‘He had an injury very early in the game [against Aston Villa], he wanted to continue the second half,’ Arteta said as quoted by Mail Online.

‘We knew it was a significant injury. He’s done very well and he’s working very hard, he wants to be available.

‘Hopefully we can get him back soon but it’s an area we need to be careful and we need to be protective with the player.

‘I don’t think he will be with us in the next few games.’
