Tottenham have reportedly submitted a €4 million bid for Valencia’s highly rated winger David Otorbi.
According to journalist Salva Gomis, Valencia’s Singaporean hierarchy has turned down Spurs’ initial offer, demanding at least €5 million along with a percentage of any future sale.
Despite this setback, Tottenham remain eager to secure the services of the talented youngster. However, they face competition from Premier League rivals Aston Villa, who are also preparing an approach for the 17-year-old.

Born in El Cabanyal to Nigerian parents, Otorbi joined Valencia’s youth academy in 2019 after playing for CF Malvarrosa and Atlético Cabanyal CF. His impressive development earned him a contract extension until 2026, which he signed in October 2023.
Otorbi made his senior debut for Valencia’s reserves in 2023 and soon followed up with a first-team debut during a Copa del Rey victory against FC Cartagena in January 2024. At just 16 years and 19 days old, he became the club’s youngest-ever debutant. He later made his La Liga debut in August earlier this season, coming off the bench in a narrow 2-1 defeat to FC Barcelona.
Due to his age, Otorbi would only be eligible to move to England after turning 18. Tottenham’s interest aligns with their strategic focus on investing in young talent.
This season, he has made 12 appearances for Valencia’s youth side, contributing two assists, in addition to his single senior La Liga appearance.
Spurs’ pursuit of Otorbi underscores their commitment to nurturing future stars. Recent acquisitions such as Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Wilson Odobert, and Yang Min-hyeok reflect this proactive approach.
While Otorbi may not have an immediate impact on the first team, Tottenham clearly see his potential to evolve into a valuable asset for the club’s long-term ambitions.
Whether the club comes back with a revised offer or not remains to be seen, however, they will need to act swiftly with other clubs reportedly seeking to sign him as well including Aston VIlla.
