Tottenham defender Ben Davies is currently sidelined with an injury, and he is now set to undergo surgery.
According to Tottenham Insider Paul O Keefe, the defender’s career at the North London club might be over. He was expected to secure a move to France this month, but the move is set to collapse as well.
Ben Davies has done well for Spurs
The Welsh international has been a great servant to Tottenham over the last 12 years, and he will be disappointed with how his time at the club has ended. He would’ve expected to play a lot more in the final season with Tottenham. It will be interesting to see if he can recover from his injury blow quickly and get back to action. It remains to be seen where he ends up in the summer.
He has a lot of quality and experience, and it is unlikely that there will be any shortage of clubs looking to sign him. His contract with Tottenham expires in the summer, and a renewal is highly unlikely. Tottenham have invested in Souza and Destiny Udogie. They are also looking to sign Andrew Robertson from Liverpool.
Davies will look to join a competitive team
The 32-year-old can play as a central defender and a left back. He could prove to be the ideal acquisition in the right team. He has a lot to offer at the highest level and will look to join a competitive team where he can fight for trophies.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can wrap up the move for Robertson quickly. The Scottish Easwaran has been exceptional for Liverpool over the years, having won several trophies with them. However, he is struggling for regular gametime at Liverpool, and the move to Tottenham could be ideal for him.
