Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.
According to Dean Jones from Give Me Sport, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both keen on signing the 22-year-old central defender.
Guehi has established himself as a key player for the Eagles and his performances in the Premier League have been extremely impressive. It is no surprise that Arsenal and Spurs are hoping to secure his services this summer.
Jones claims that Tottenham believe they have an edge over their London rivals in the transfer race.
Apparently, Spurs will be able to provide the 22-year-old with first-team assurances and the player could be tempted to join them because of that.
It is no secret that Spurs will have to improve defensively and they need to bring in a reliable partner for Cristian Romero. On the other hand, Arsenal must look to add more depth to their defensive unit. The injury to William Saliba weakened their defence severely towards the end of the season and they need a bigger and better squad to compete across multiple competitions in the upcoming season.
The 22-year-old Crystal Palace defender has all the attributes to play for a top club and he could develop into a key player for Arsenal or Tottenham. Guehi needs to play regularly in order to establish himself as a regular for England ahead of the Euro 2024 and the 22-year-old is likely to be attracted to Tottenham if they can promise him regular first-team football.
