Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Barcelona attacker Ferran Torres.
The 24-year-old Spanish international has been linked with a move to the Premier League and Tottenham will face competition for his services from Arsenal. According to a report from Spanish publication Marca (h/t SportWitness), both clubs considered a move for him in January and they could look to make a move for him at the end of the season. He is a long-term target for Tottenham.
Torres is a dynamic attacker capable of operating anywhere across the front three, and he will add goals and creativity to the side. The player has 10 goals to his name this season and he has picked up three assists along the way as well.
The Barcelona star has played in the Premier League before with Manchester City and he knows the League well. He should be able to settle in quickly and make an immediate impact. He won the league title with Manchester City as well. Tottenham need a dynamic forward like him, especially with the likes of Timo Werner expected to leave the club at the end of the season. It remains to be seen whether they can negotiate a deal with Barcelona over the next few months.

Meanwhile, Arsenal need more depth in the attacking unit as well, and they have the financial resources to sign the player as well. They will be able to offer him Champions League football next season and that could give them an edge over Tottenham.
The 24-year-old Spaniard recently returned from an injury and scored a hattrick last night against Valencia in the Copa Del Rey quarter-finals. Barcelona manager Hansi Flick labelled this performance as amazing, and it will be interesting to see if the Spanish outfit are ready to let him leave in the summer.
“I am happy because he scored three goals. It’s amazing because he has not had an easy time this season. He came back after an injury and I’m happy for him, he was great today.”
It will be interesting to see if the two English clubs can convince him to return to the Premier League at the end of the season.
