Tottenham winger Bryan Gil could leave Spurs this month after struggling to earn minutes on the pitch.
According to Simon Jones of the Daily Mail, Serie A side Fiorentina are expressing a strong interest in securing the signing of the Spanish forward.
Spurs signed the young talent from Sevilla in the summer of 2021, signing him to a five-year contract for a transfer fee of €25 million.
Having played only 85 minutes in 9 league games during his debut season with Tottenham, Gil was subsequently loaned to Valencia for the remainder of the campaign. In the following season, he made 11 appearances before being loaned to Sevilla in January.
The Spanish international faced an unfortunate start to the current season with a two-month absence due to pubic bone inflammation. Since his return, Gil has struggled to make a significant impact under the management of Ange Postecoglou, featuring in only 9 Premier League appearances.
In light of his desire for more playing time, Serie A side Fiorentina has emerged as a potential destination. However, La Liga clubs Real Sociedad and Sevilla also express considerable interest, with recent reports suggesting that Real Sociedad have initiated contact with Spurs about a possible move.
The player has reportedly already sent an ‘exit request’ to Daniel Levy. According to a recent report, the wide-man has informed the board that he is unwilling to undergo another loan spell unless it includes a permanent buy option.
Given the recent addition of Timo Werner to Tottenham, it appears likely that Bryan Gil’s playing time under Postecoglou will further be limited.
A move away from Spurs may be the most beneficial option for both the player and the club.
