Tottenham hoping to strike a loan deal with Premier League club for 20-year-old

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham are looking to send Alejo Veliz out on loan next season.

The club signed the young Argentinean last summer.

He made a total of 8 appearances for the Spurs first team, scoring 1 goal. He was then loaned out to Sevilla in January for the remainder of the season to further his development.

However, the La Liga club handed the 20-year-old only 4 appearances, totalling a mere 29 minutes of game time.

Tottenham were left upset by the La Liga club’s treatment of their striker, with the club being accused of not standing by their promise of giving Veliz the opportunity to play.

As per recent reports, the North London club are planning to send him out on loan once again next season.

Argentinean journalist, Uriel Lugt has refuted claims that the club are considering sending him on loan to Argentina.

Instead, he claims that Spurs want to loan him out to a Premier League club, while Italian clubs are also keeping an eye on him.

The North London club’s objective is to aid in the development of the Argentina U20 international’s talent through additional loan spells before integrating him fully into the squad.

Among the potential suitors for Veliz’s services on loan is Bournemouth, who have expressed interest in securing his temporary services.

Spurs have also expressed an interest in Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke. This could perhaps open an opportunity to use Veliz as part of a deal to bring in the former Liverpool attacker.
