Tottenham Hotspur have failed in their attempt to sign Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer.
Tottenham are expected to make quite a few signings in the upcoming transfer window as they look to take the next step under the leadership of Ange Postecoglou. They want to bring in a new centre-back and Tosin Adarabioyo is one of their targets.
But, according to Spurs insider Paul O Keefe, the Fulham defender has turned down an offer from the North London club.
Adarabioyo who has made quite a name for himself with his impressive performances for the Cottagers is expected to be on the move in the summer. His contract with Fulham runs out at the end of the season and he doesn’t seem interested in extending his stay at the club.
With the 26-year-old centre-back available for free, there is no shortage of interest in his services. He has a lot of experience of playing in the Premier League and is still in his prime which is why top clubs are keen on his signature.
Tottenham are one of the clubs that want to incorporate him into their team. Postecoglou is keen on adding more depth and quality to his backline in the summer. Despite having signed Radu Dragusin in January, the Australian manager feels they need more depth at the back to compete with the best teams in the country.
Adarabioyo is someone who would surely bolster their defence and Spurs have now put forward an offer to sign him. But, the player has turned down the opportunity to join Tottenham and it will be interesting to see if the North London club return for his services with an improved offer in the near future.
