Tottenham Hotspur are already putting plans in place to improve their squad in the coming months.

According to Give Me Sport, Timo Werner is now likely to leave the club after failing to impress this season. The 28-year-old has one assist in all competitions for the North London club and Tottenham have already informed the recruitment department that they need to sign a versatile attacker who is capable of operating on both flanks.

It is evident that Werner will fall further down the pecking order in the coming months and it would make sense for him to move on. The player is currently on loan at Tottenham, and it will be interesting to see if there is an opportunity for the English club to terminate his loan deal.

He does not have a future at RB Leipzig either and the German club will hope to get rid of him permanently. It remains to be seen how the situation develops. At one point, the German international was regarded as one of the finest attacking talents in European football, but the move to Chelsea derailed his career. He failed to adapt to the Premier League, and he has not been able to recover since.

The German international needs a move away from the limelight where he can regain his form and confidence. He needs to join a club where he will get regular first-team action. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Meanwhile, Spurs need a dynamic attacker who is capable of slotting into multiple roles and will chip in with goals and creativity. They will be hoping to challenge for trophies in the coming seasons, and they need a deeper squad with more quality.

It will be interesting to see if they can bring in the right reinforcements.
