“I love it” – Striker may have hinted at a potential summer move

By Mehdi Gokal -

Timo Werner has admitted he’s happy at Tottenham, hinting at a potential permanent move.

Earlier in January, Tottenham finalised a loan deal with RB Leipzig for versatile striker Timo Werner, which also included an option for a permanent transfer.

Since joining, the German international has positively impacted Ange Postecoglou’s squad. Werner has quickly established himself, consistently contributing to goals whether starting games or coming off the bench.

In his brief time at Spurs thus far, he has demonstrated his quality, accumulating 2 goals and 3 assists in only 694 minutes of Premier League action over 11 appearances.

Werner’s promising start has sparked discussions about the potential of a permanent stay with the Lilywhites. Although he is under contract with RB Leipzig until June 2026, reports suggest uncertainty regarding his future with the Bundesliga side.

And now Werner may have hinted towards an interest in a permanent move.

Werner is loving life at Tottenham

Following Spurs’ 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest in their latest Premier League fixture, where Werner played a role in a goal, he shared his enthusiasm for playing at the North London outfit.

The 28-year-old emphasised his satisfaction with the team, his fellow teammates, the style of play, and the atmosphere of the stadium, indicating his strong attachment to the club, stating:

“I’m enjoying it a lot. Playing with this team, these teammates, in this style, and in this stadium, I love it here!”

Werner could prove to be a bargain signing

As the Lilywhites evaluate their choices, Werner’s smooth transition, aided by his prior Premier League experience, makes him an bargain signing for the price he is available for.

Should Spurs opt for a permanent deal for the former Chelsea player, it would entail a transfer fee of £15 million.

Given his impact, Werner’s prospects of staying with Tottenham beyond the loan deal seem promising.
