This Spurs Fan Was “staggered” By Responses To His Stadium Tweet

By The Boy -

Time moves very quickly in football and the once lauded chairman Daniel Levy is now frequently witness to #enicout and #levyout trending on social media. Protests have taken outside the stadium and The Boy understands from organizers that further protests are also planned for next season. There was a time when ‘Levy time’ was associated with metaphorically pulling a rabbit out of a hat, but now one is more likely to find aggravated comments about time-wasting and penny-pinching.

So young Liam posted a quite upbeat Tweet declaring his admiration for the stadium. A development that once held the fanbase’s whole attention, and there were planes above it taking pictures, videos shot of various tasks being completed as well as detailed discussion and analysis of each day’s work. That excitement has well and truly peaked with most fans. Gone is the boyish enthusiasm, and it has in the main been replaced by fear about the spiralling debts and the collapsing football that has seen Spurs fall from the Champions League into 7th and now the Europa Conference, UEFA’s third tier of football.

It looks as if Liam might have been staggered by the replies, but certainly wasn’t moved by any of the ‘all wrap and no gift’ type comments.

Wow, I’m truly staggered.
So, being in the minority camp & knowing I’ll get pelters for this, I’m still going to say, the new stadium IS up there as one of the best in the world.
I’m NOT defending Mr.Levy for his crimes against THFC but it IS a football stadium 1st & foremost & his business acumen in maximising the stadiums financial income should actually be applauded.
There were both NFL & boxing at WHL but some don’t seem to remember that fact & I’m not sure I heard too many complaints about it? & IF anyone doesn’t like it now, you know what? Don’t go. Simples.
But, like at WHL, any future NFL, boxing, concert or whatever else is held at the TH stadium, generates vast amounts of income which will help pay the stadium debt. (& that’s another subject I feel so many are deliberately obtuse about). & I’ll bet a $ to a doughnut that ALL other non-football events will be sold out or as near as damn it. Who wouldn’t want to see AJ fight? What Guns ‘n’ Roses fan won’t go to the concert?
& before I receive the negative responses, can I just add Wembley, The Emirates, The Ethiad, Old Trafford, Anfield, etc, etc will ALL be holding non-football events next year so why is it supposedly so wrong at the TH stadium??
(It’s an entirely separate issue that THFC have been poor, etc the stadium is STILL a great stadium!)

Isn’t it embarrassing to have a nice shiny stadium but 6th & 7th place finishes consecutively to celebrate in it.
It’s all about the real estate with ENIC.

Very clever actually for their initial (was it) £25m outlay they will sell for approx £1.5bn – £2bn so you can see why they are so pleased.
No cost to them and they walk away with a fortune.
All this “we have to do things differently” you can say that again Levy.

Another on the PR payrole.

1. It’s ugly as sin.
and 2. It’s not our home, it’s an NFL/events arena.

The Liams of this world are Levy’s target audience. Give the wife or mistress a shiny trinket when you get home bladdered after a night out with the lads when you only went out for a pint of milk.

Levy never has invested in the team preferring infrastructure to people like all property people. Under his era we’ve had good sides which with investment could have done something.
Things have gone so far backwards in the last couple of years that I think we need more than decent central defender to be competitive and that’s with Kane.

Its a venue now. The football team is an after thought. The sooner this is realised the better because it can only mean that more people turn there back on supporting the financial interests of ENIC. If shit isn’t real for you now wake up.

It’s a shame we are not sponsored by o2 because then it might make more sense to some people

Call me old fashioned but if I want to watch an american football match, I’ll go to the states, if I want to watch a boxing match i’ll go to wembley and if I fancy watching a pop concert i’ll go to the 02. Loved WHL and would have been delighted if that was redeveloped for half the price with the rest used to update the team.

What’s the point in having the best house in the world if you have no furniture in it.

Not much point having a magnificent stadium and a useless team. But purely focussing on the stadium, while it is magnificent in many respects, yes, its outer appearance could be rather more pleasing on the eye.

Yes but what you say involves spending money on People who will want money. Dan prefers to spend it on Bricks and Mortar.

Shaped like a toilet seat with a team to match. Have I ever mentioned about how bloody angry I am with all this? All baldy had to do was keep the team upgraded enough to keep hope alive which would then keep Harry Kane interested. Not difficult. All he needed to do was buy Mourinho 1 decent central defender.
