Many Tottenham fans might be thinking we know have a plucky underdog at the wheel, perhaps even that bounce that a fresh manager can bring. All alternate view is that you won’t get a bounce out of someone that essentially isn’t new, and the man for the job, the one man who is a cup final specialist has just been fired.
Whatever some may have thought about Mourinho, has Levy made the right decision here – specifically for this game? Could Daniel not just pinched his nose for another week?
History tends to repeat itself… The reason the football is so painful is because we have a squad full of rubbish players. Lo celso Winks and co are rubbish.. It was the players who couldn’t hang on to that lead. More fool you if you looked forward to that final. The scoreline flattered us mate, it could have been 5 or 6 nil.
His history is just that..history it was clear as day the way we were playing under him it wasn’t going to work. Tactically we did the same thing match after match. He couldn’t manage a 2-0 lead over dinamo but yea he’s won finals in past so he’d of won this one. Im personally looking forward to this more now he’s not there than if he was cos watching us under him was painful
Well i will back them all until they perform badly, this is not a unconditional love thing its their job.
And his boss/ majority shareholder.
Exactly.
He wanted his Christmas present to be top four and a trophy.. The trophy is on. And top four is still on, just… Sack him at the end of the season if needs be, the timing was horrendous
Lo no show… Ha ha.. I know its hypothetical but if he rested Kane then he wouldn’t have rolled his ankle.. For sure Maureen would have subbed him long before stoppage time to protect him.
Because he has won finals at every single club. Check out his CV.
Because it’s a waste of time, he owns a third of the club and like the Glazers, Kroenkes and Fenway he’s going nowhere until he’s bought out.
Well Maureen would have rested Tanguy & Lo no show….they can’t play one game in a week let alone 3 in 9 days….😂
Why does everyone think Jose would have done a job?? I’m baffled it was clear he had lost majority of the players he wasn’t going to turn around 4 months of awful performances in one day.
He was bought into get into the champions league. Levy doesn’t care about domestic cups it’s all about the money that the cl brings
I think that it is the first time that I have ever heard Merson say anything remotely sensible. As I understand it, Levy intended to sack Mourinho at the end of the season. If we were to win the the Carabao under Mourinho and had finished in the top four ,it would have cost Levy a lot more money to sack him so he chose the optimum moment financially to get rid of him. Why Levy does not get more stick from the media and fans, I’ll never know but there is no accounting for stupidity. There are still some muppets on this site who can’t see that Levy is the root of all football problems at the club.
Because ENIC/Levy shills are all over the social media platforms painting such a good image of him.To those bothered to read between the lines the illusion is obvious.Emperor’s new clothes.
This is a rare occasion when Merson is right.
CL? Or league cup? A good few different players this time… No Mason and Bentaleb in the middle. Should never have left Dembele on the bench.. And no Tintin thank goodness. Thats a ten man handicap.
I heard rumours that Maureen wanted to rest certain key players for the Saints game, so they were fresh and ready for the final. Levy said no, play the best against the Saints.. This apparently was a huge argument..
Yep
My memory is still strong from the last final this club’s team played in. They never turned up for that one. Today wont be any different. If the players can’t be bothered why should any manager?
The timing of the sacking is lunacy… 5 days before the final. The first english domestic league final we’ve been in since Botchs very first year.. The man who was bought in to win stuff is sacked right before he gets the chance… It’s just another tick on the ‘Baldy doesn’t have a clue’ board.
If I was Ryan I doubt Mourinho is even mentioned in that dressing room, it’s all about today , not yesterday or tomorrow, just today.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda. It is what it is.
Win or lose today, I’m backing Ryan until his replacement comes along, and then I’ll back the replacement.
Maybe there are others but this gooner is one of the first people I’ve heard asking why isn’t levy copping flack.
It’s bizarre how levy is never persona non grata
