The name of Pape Sarr has only come to the fore in the last few days, but it would appear that Hitchen and Paratici have focused their attentions on a player that would appear to be on an upward trajectory. In today’s daily briefing, I provide my take on not just this deal, but where Spurs might be with Harry Kane, to which Peter Crouch makes a useful contribution.
The suggestion that Daniel Levy only offered £75million upfront and the rest on add-ons, beggars belief – to the extent that I believe it comes from the THFC press office.
Sarr can play. Trust me. Brilliant signing. Top top work
N’Koudou Mk III, splendid and just what we need! Good to see you back H!
Sarr is just 18 and there’s no guarantee he will develope as hoped.Dele was being raved about at 18 and whilst he gave us a lot to look forward to but his last 2 or 3 of years have seen him go backwards at an alarming rate. No,we need proper players in other positions now not wannabees.
Regarding Kane,as the time slips away i can see him still with us when the window closes, and a not very happy bunny too.Having his brother as his agent, and the only person he represents apparently, has been a disaster for Kane as you need an experienced agent to go up against Levy.
My feeling is that Kane will then look to go on and beat Jimmy Greaves’ record, but will then run his contract down, thereby giving Levy nothing at the end of the day.Rose 2.Even at 31,providing his ankles are still inworking order he would still get a last good payday.
don’t mind punts…but we still need first team plaaaayyeeeeerrsss (“inbetweeners”)..
No idea about Sarr, other than he is a punt as you say and Hichen’s and Levy’s punts, particularly in La Ligue have not been successful the past but perhaps it is a Paratici inspired choice, only time will tell. With regards to the putative Kane transfer, I wouldn’t believe a word that comes from the Spurs PR department and Levy is a proven liar. I see the situation rather differently. I think that Levy might be hoist on his own petard. By demanding a minimum of £150 mill for Kane, he hasn’t left much room for negotiation with City. It’s a lot of money for a 28 yr old with a history of ankle problems. If I was City, I would go and buy Vlahovic or Martinez who are much younger or wait for M’Bappe or Haarland who could both be much cheaper at the end of this season. If Levy thinks he is playing the hard man, then how much will Kane be worth after another season. Now is the time to cash in on Kane.
We’re taking a leaf out of another clubs play book in stockpiling young talent. Let’s hope it works.
