Tottenham Hotspur will be heading to Selhurst Park Stadium this weekend for their fixture against Crystal Palace. The Eagles will have to prepare to limit Harry Kane’s influence in the match.
While the 28-year-old holds the title of being arguably the best striker in the Premier League, for Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira, he’s seen better.
TalkSPORT relayed Vieira’s comment from his press conference where the former Arsenal midfielder stated his former teammate Thierry Henry was on another level. The French tactician was asked about both players, and it doesn’t come as a surprise that he’s leaning towards Henry.
“Kane can finish inside box, outside box; he can create chances. He is a modern number nine and can change position,” Vieira said. “But Thierry Henry, I am sorry he is in a different level. I love Kane, he is a fantastic player, but Thierry is still Thierry.”
Furthermore, as a former Gunner, the media asked Vieira whether a victory over Tottenham would be extra satisfying. Nonetheless, the 45-year-old stated that his playing days are behind him, and it’s focusing on Crystal Palace.
“No, no, no, no. I am not a player anymore, so this kind of rivalry between Arsenal and Tottenham is in the past,” Vieira said. “The fact I used to play for Arsenal against Tottenham, it is not important for me and will not be important tomorrow.”
Tottenham will look to secure another three points as they gear up for a showdown with Chelsea FC next weekend.
