Angel Gomes has been linked with a move to Tottenham and former scout Mick Brown claims that they have been watching him closely this season.
It will be interesting to see if they follow up on their interest and submit an official offer for him soon. According to Football Insider, Tottenham are looking to add more creativity in the middle of the park, and they are likely to weigh up the pros and cons of signing the English midfielder before getting a deal done.
Brown said: “They’ve been watching him play and they’ll put together a report of what his pros and cons are, then they’ll decide whether he’s the right player for them.
“His availability for free will obviously be a big bonus too, and I’m sure they’re not the only ones keeping an eye on that to make a move.”
Meanwhile, a report from Give Me Sport claims that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is personally working on a deal to sign the player. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham sign him for a reasonable amount of money this month, instead of waiting to sign him on a free transfer at the end of the season.
His contract with Lille expires in the summer, and he has decided not to sign an extension with them. The player is keen on a new challenge at this stage of his career and a move to the Premier League would be ideal for him.

The former Manchester United Academy graduate could be excited about the possibility of joining a big club like Tottenham. They have an exciting project and they could provide him with the platform to showcase qualities in the Premier League regularly.
Given his contract situation, the move seems like a no-brainer and Tottenham should do everything in their power to get the deal done. The player is on the radar of West Ham United as well, but it is fair to assume that Tottenham could be a more attractive destination.
