The Premier League is holding an emergency meeting this morning, in respect of the Coronavirus pandemic, which could, in theory, see this season abandoned.
For some fans, such an announcement couldn’t come soon enough. Looking at comments from Spurs fans more broadly across social media, some fans have clearly become quite jaundiced with the whole business.
Observers in the past have frequently spoken of the “disconnect” between fans and clubs, but the situation at Spurs feels as if it has reached a new low in relations.
This is a promising young player making his way in his career and there are fans tagging comments such as this one, essentially spitting hate at him, to his face. Which is really strange.
