“The main man” – Jermain Defoe praises the current form of Harry Kane

By Eddie Razo -

Despite not scoring in Tottenham Hotspur’s 5-1 win over, Harry Kane played a significant role in the north London club’s victory. In 90 minutes, the 28-year-old had one assist and three key passes for Spurs.

Jermain Defoe praised Kane after the Tottenham striker delivered another outstanding performance. The England international provided the helper on the goal scored by Matt Doherty to make it 2-1 for Spurs.

After the match, Defoe spoke on Sky Sports (via Football.London) and complemented Kane’s ability to be involved in all aspects of a game.

“The way Harry Kane is playing now, with the freedom to roam and drop into pockets. When he gets on the ball, he’s as good a passer as anyone, and now you’ve got runners in behind to score goals,” Defoe told said.

“Harry Kane is the main man, but it helps when you’ve got players that have come in and hit the ground running, doing well, because it makes the team stronger.”

Tottenham will hope that Kane continues to display this form as they need him in their race to finish in the top four this season. With the margins separating Spurs, Arsenal, and Manchester United being the slimmest, an in-form Kane can be one of the deciding factors.

Kane and the north London club will hope to add to their three-match Premier League win streak when they travel to Villa Park next weekend.
