‘The club I would like to go to….’: Tottenham-linked midfielder confirms transfer desire

By Saikat -

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Fenerbahce midfielder Ismail Yuksek.

The 25-year-old midfielder has done quite well for the Turkish club and his performances have attracted the attention of the Premier League club.

Tottenham recently scouted the player in action when Fenerbahce were up against Union SG in the UEFA Europa Conference league. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham follow up on their interest with a concrete proposal to sign the player at the end of the season.

Tottenham currently have Yves Bissouma as the only specialist defensive midfielder at the club, and they need more depth in that position. Yuksek could prove to be a quality option for them but the player has now cast major doubt on a potential move to Tottenham.

He has revealed in an interview that Manchester United would be a dream destination for him, and he has wanted to play for them since he was a child.

“The club I would like to go to in Europe is Manchester United, my childhood dream,” he said via Fotomac.

With that said, it is still unlikely that Yuksek will turn down a move to Tottenham if the opportunity comes calling. It would be a major step up in his career and he would get to test himself at a high-level.

Tottenham are pushing for qualification to the Champions League and they need a deeper squad in order to navigate multiple competitions next season. Adding more depth in the middle of the park would be a wise decision.

Yuksek has the physicality to adapt to English football and his arrival will allow Ange Postecoglou to rotate his midfield options more often.

Apart from his ability to protect the central defence and break up opposition attacks, he can chip in with assists as well. The midfielder has five assists across all competitions this season.
