Tottenham to scout 25-year-old on Thursday, waiting for Ange to approve summer move

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Fenerbahce midfielder Ismail Yuksek.

The 25-year-old defensive midfielder has done quite well for the Turkish club, and his performances have attracted the attention of the north London outfit.

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Tottenham officials will scout the defensive midfielder in action when they host Union SG in the UEFA Europa Conference League on Thursday.

If manager Ange Postecoglou approves of the move, Tottenham will then come forward and ‘knock on Fenerbahce’s door’ during the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old has been a key player for the Turkish club, and he has the physical and technical attributes to do well in English football as well. Tottenham could certainly use more quality and depth in the defensive midfield department. Yves Bissouma is the only specialist defensive midfielder at the club right now and Tottenham need more options.

It remains to be seen whether they can get a deal for Yuksek done in the summer. The opportunity to join Spurs will be an exciting option for the 25-year-old midfielder who will feel that this is the right time for him to make the step up in his career.

Apart from his ability to break up opposition attacks and protect the defence, he will help out creatively as well. The midfielder has five assists across all competitions.

Spurs have an exciting starting starting eleven but they need more depth in order to win major trophies. Players like Yuksek could prove to be wise investments.
