And so a grenade was tossed through the proverbial cat flap.

Phone conversations with the Harry Hotspur blogs’ source close to Tottenham Hotspur normally involve me doing lots of listening, and very little talking. As anyone who has spoken with me via any medium will attest – is a rare thing.

However, this week the event that didn’t add up at all was this business published in the Evening Standard about Tanguy NDombele having ‘popped over’ to Hotspur Way to admire the Bald Avenger’s empire.

This struck me as complete nonsense.

Did Tanguy NDombele really go full Peter Odemwingie?!

It’s now my understanding that the trip was in order to partake in, and pass a medical.

Done deal?

Well, if it isn’t, then I’d be absolutely fascinated to hear just how this one went wrong.

Regular readers will be aware I despise hope and belief, these are the tools of perrenial losers.

But could it be that Eriksen to Madrid is done and Tanguy to Tottenham is, too?!

Levy has no choice but to back Poch now. Quality is needed to inject some new optimism into the side. Those that haven’t contributed 110% need to find new pastures to moan about on. CL final defeat still looms large. Need new personalities to brighten up a deflated dressing room.

sorry did that offend you? I replaced “guy” with “man”…is man a racist term now….

Quite honestly any chairman that wouldn’t give the manager some backing after getting to a Champions League final with no signings for a year would be the biggest bastard on earth.

Levy knows he’ll face the mother of all PR disasters if he doesn’t spend at this point. That’s all this is about…

If this is true then hats off to Poch for finally forcing Levy’s hand. I am sure that Danny boy would have preferred to sell Eriksen first and then do his usual last minute arm wrestling but Poch has made it clear he needs a Dembele replacement before everyone returns to training and this young man is the answer. To be realistic we can probably be pretty certain that any further signings of significance will only come after Eriksen is sold but I am ok with that because if Ndombele lives up to the form he showed against City he will help get the best out of Winks and provide the sorely needed link to the attacking midfielders. Baldy will hate having to dip into the CL booty but it’s about bloody time he was forced to invest in players rather than concrete.

Levy’s built his shopping centre but the world has changed and he’s realised that he has a manager that can make a paltry net spend, or even an absence of any spend at all look like it’s not an issue.

Poch has Baldy over a barrel right now. No Poch and nobody to work miracles with fuck all. No wonder he’s trying to placate him…

Ideally I like them all in for preseason, that ain’t gonna happen. As long as poch gets pretty close to what he wants before the window shuts ill be kool with that. Ndom needs to be here for preseason.

It doesn’t matter if ndombele has had a medical. Some other club could still outbid us and take him ,just be glad that cheatski have a transfer ban otherwise I truly think they would have.
As for CE,he played like he lost interest since Christmas, and I’m still surprised Madrid are still interested in him. I would ask for Isco in return, but that won’t happen.

  • Tappaspur June 29, 2019 at 10:23 pm

Why would any of the duds leave for less wages while living the life of Riley at Tottenham?

  • Marbella Spur June 29, 2019 at 9:49 pm

It does pose the question, if Ndomble is that good why has another club not come in for him. Man Utd, Man City both need holding midfielders.

  • huh June 29, 2019 at 9:41 pm

If we’re dilly-dallying this long over a 50m punt, I guess signing a truly world class player is still way out of our reach.
(Ndombele reminds me of Wilson Palacios)

Why should you expect pessimists to succeed if they don’t.

  • Tappaspur June 29, 2019 at 8:54 pm

Give it some wellie. It will cost £400 mill over the next two seasons then £100 mil odd per season (net) thereafter.

I hope its true, however Marbella is correct, TanMan isn’t a replacement for CE..I wish CE well on his next adventure, his stats are amazing but he let us down last season so maybe its time for a change anyway….

If CE is going to Madrid then Levy is going to have to spend a shitload more money replacing him with a top playmaker like La Celso. Can’t see the little twat doing two £50m plus buys in one window can you?

  • GiveItSomeWelly June 29, 2019 at 8:18 pm

Tappa ease off the sherbets mate you’ll be having us win the world cup next, and you’ll be upsetting Levy with all that positive talk about success without saying how much it will all cost.

Will we win the big treble before I die? Hell yes! Probably when levy jr is running the show. Levy JR one day this will all be yours!

My God what a scary thought. How many more Levy’s can this club stand? I bet daddy is teaching him the importance of a net spend every season right now.

  • GiveItSomeWelly June 29, 2019 at 8:14 pm

Eriksen to RM sounds possible as the Times were reporting his family house hunting in Madrid. As we all know Mr Bungle won’t spend any money unless he’s got some coming in, so yes it could be true. The press will yell “Spurs transfer record” but little dipshit will still come out of it with as net spend the useless little turd, and that’s despite all that CL and TV money. What would we do without him? Win trophies that’s what.

My targets for next season would be this. First of all forget about dubs trebs and quads that ain’t gonna happen yet. We will win the big double within a decade though. I’d chuck everything at the CL. Finishing in the top four and a domestic cup. None of this is pie in the sky. We are Tottenham hotspur. Never know we could end up with a little double. The following season and there after it will all be about the big double. Coyf. Dare to dream

African cup sounds like a barnstormer. 3 hours of football today and not 1 goal. I put Cameroon v Ghana on my goal rush…..the heat sent me mental clearly.

  • Is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? June 29, 2019 at 7:32 pm

Still nothing to suggest Levy’s had a bid accepted. That must be the only thing stopping this from being complete. I have no doubt if there really was a fee agreed it would be up on ENIC fc official site before you could say sell on value.

We’ll be fully loaded with real quality for the 20\21 season trust me. That’s when the real glory will start. It’s gonna be a great ride. Oh and anyone who thinks poch won’t see out his contract is a nut case. cOyS. Shove it down the doubters.

  • Marbella Spur June 29, 2019 at 6:52 pm

If it is true that Eriksen’s family have been looking at property in Madrid, your guess could well be right. I am not averse to selling Eriksen but buying Ndombele would only replace Dembele. Perhaps all of us posters on your blog might have to eat some humble pie!
