Summer signing could already leave Tottenham in January, club ready to pay €8-10m

Tottenham Hotspur signed Alejo Veliz from Rosario Central at the start of the season.

The 20-year-old striker has barely had any opportunities with the North London club and he is being linked with the move away in January.

According to Corriere Dello Sport (h/t SportWitness), Italian club Bologna are keen on signing him and they could offer €8-10 million for the player in January. Apparently, the Italian outfit are looking to bring in attacking reinforcements and Veliz could prove to be a quality acquisition for them.

The Argentine prodigy is highly rated around Europe and he has a big future ahead of him. However, he needs to play regularly in order to gain more experience and fulfil his potential.

It seems unlikely that Tottenham will be able to provide him with the platform he needs right now. The player is reportedly open to the transfer as well and it remains to be seen whether Bologna can convince Tottenham with an offer.

The North London outfit paid around £13 million for the player and they will look to make a profit on him. Their demands could complicate any potential move.

Tottenham need more depth in their attack but Veliz is clearly not ready to make his mark in the Premier League yet. Selling him would bring in the funds to invest in a more established player.

It will be interesting to see if they decide to cash in on the Argentine attacker and bring in a quality replacement.

Spurs will have to be more patient with the talented young striker. Selling him right now might not be the right decision and perhaps a loan deal would be ideal for all parties.
